KUUMBA II

Neiman Marcus Tyson Galleria in partnership with The Black Art Today Foundation presents  Kuumba II  a Black History Month Art Exhibit. Experience breathtaking artwork from artists inspired by the African Diaspora while enjoying a live jazz performance. The exhibit will be Saturday February 18, 2023 from 1pm-5pm and Sunday February 19, 2023 from 12pm-4pm, at Neiman Marcus Tyson Galleria on the 1st Floor.

The exhibit will feature the artwork of artists and art organizations located in the DMV.  Many of the artists and their representatives will be in attendance and available to discuss their creative process.  All works will be available for purchase. So mark your calendars to attend and help us celebrate Black History as seen through the eyes of an artist.

About the Exhibit

The Kuumba II Exhibit is a celebration  of Kwanzaa's sixth Principle Kuumba,Swahili for Creativity

"Kuumba is the commitment to being creative within the context of the national community vocation of restoring our people to their traditional greatness and thus leaving our community more beneficial and beautiful than we inherited it. The principle has both a social and spiritual dimension and is deeply rooted in social and sacred teachings of African societies."

The artists and art selected for the
Kuumba II Exhibit fulfill the commitment to the Kuumba Principle.
