Black Art Today!, LLC Productions presents Black Art Today!’s video series UnCovered.  UnCovered is Black Art Today’s intimate conversations with artists of African Descent that represent African American Culture in the genres of literature, visual arts, and performing arts. 

Ep 9: James Lee Nathan, III Author

This episode of UnCovered we interviewed best selling author James Lee Nathan III (JLN3).He is the self-published author of 3 novels & 9 novellas, spanning many speculative fiction sub-genres. He's best known for his scifi erotic crime drama series Robert Manis and No Brakes, both of which are best sellers on the leanpub author platform.  Recently he has written a historical fiction entitled 'Melvina The Color of Power'. An accounting of the real life of Madam Melvina Massey and her descendants.

Ep.8: The National Memorial for Peace and Justice

This episode of UnCovered is In recognition of Black History Month. Black Art Today!'s CEO, Alicia Clark, documented her experience at The National Memorial for Peace and Justice. The National Memorial for Peace and Justice opened to the public on April 26, 2018, is the nation’s first memorial dedicated to the legacy of enslaved black people, people terrorized by lynching

Ep.7: "The Beautiful Difference" - Martha's Vineyard

In this episode of UnCovered, Black Art Today! traveled to the town of Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard to attend “The Beautiful Difference” exhibit at the Francine Kelly Gallery in the Art Barn at the Featherstone Center for the Arts. We had the opportunity to interview the curator Sandra Grymes and several exhibit attendees and learn about Oak Bluffs’ African-American residents' historical significance and contributions on Martha's Vineyard

Ep.6: Thomas Dade the "Blaq Picasso"

Thomas Dade “The Blaq Picasso” was born and raised in Washington, DC and currently works out of his studio in Hagerstown, MD. Thomas is an alumnus of the esteemed Duke Ellington School of the Arts. His work is inspired by music, identity and mystery.   Thomas is primarily an abstract painter, that uses various mediums to conceptualize his vision. 

Ep.5: Author Angela M. Odom - Bronco Strong

Black Art Today! had the pleasure of interviewing  Author Angela M. Odom, about her book, Bronco Strong: A Memoir of the Last Deployed Personnel Services Battalion. Bronco Strong is her first book and a testament to the challenges of daily life for soldiers during the Iraqi Surge, during which two members of her battalion lost their lives in service to their country. Angela's eloquent and vivid discussion about Bronco Strong and her challenges and triumphs in and out of the military. 

Ep.4: Author Camille Robinson Unloved -The Love of Benedicte

Camille Robinson created a story that allows people to view blacks in a well- rounded capacity. "That we were not just slaves. We were bold, free men and women, educated, and innovative. We took care of our families. We worked hard and loved harder. Despite the ridiculous amounts of obstacles we faced, our desire for liberty and love for our family kept us focused. It is their shoulders we stand upon, and it is their persistence that enables us to have access to liberties denied to them."
